Bea Thurman The night I discovered cavetown I was confused, anxious and closeted. I found the original version of dysphoric while on YouTube, and gave it a listen. It made me cry as no other song had before. That night was when I finally accepted the possibility of me being trans. Since then, I've listened to most of his discography, and have enjoyed it all. Thank you for changing my life, Robbie. Favorite track: Dysphoric V.2.

Candle 03:32
Nothing's happened, you can calm down now. You're not a monster and no one's going to shut you out. Mum and Dad love you, you can come home now. Of course your friends love you, what are you talking about. Have the strength to push away all the pain from yesterday, Cause there's nothing worth crying about Your heart is a candle and I won't let you blow it out So what, you messed up, at least it won't happen again Every time I screw up I feel I've let down all my friends Stumbling through a thousand stars and neon cars break through my skull There's so much life out here in space it's crazy that we're here at all

Evergreen 03:54
We're in the rain, in outer space And I can't fathom an explanation for what we're doing in this place Now your hair clings to your cheek I brush it aside ever so gently, thank you for being here for me It's not easy staying clean, wouldn't it be nice to be evergreen It feels like I'm slipping behind a screen of nighlights and suicidal tendencies It's not easy feeling cold like burning numb hands under a water stream Wouldn't it be nice to be evergreen We're in the snow, under the milky way And no matter how hard I try to, I can't possibly explain My shaking hands and my breaking bones There's nothing like whispers in your mind to keep you aware that you're alone It's not easy staying clean, wouldn't it be nice to be evergreen It feels like I'm slipping behind a screen of nighlights and suicidal tendencies It's not easy feeling cold like burning numb hands under a water stream Wouldn't it be nice to be evergreen, wouldn't it be nice to be In moments like this it's hard to breathe steadily The world is spinning and my hands shake uncontrollably Life's a hair, one gentle blow and it could be gone And I've never felt so afraid We're on the earth, on solid ground Do you have any idea how lucky you are to be around You're not alone, please never forget My arms are your second home

I'm not really sure how this pans out in the real world But in my head, everything's going perfectly And even though I'm not quite sure how, you've taught me to love the world And be daring, and now life's exciting But I am so confused, one day I'll be solidly loving you And then the next I'm not sure you even care for me at all It's something I can't see, how on earth could a galaxy Like you think anything of a tiny star like me But in the end I don't really care what you think Cause the bottom line is you make me happier than I've ever been, Oh I've ever been And after all why would you do all the nice things that you do If you didn't really mean them from the bottom of your heart So it's all good, yeah it's all good Is there any way I can help you out, cause I can't think of a way To repay you for all the good you've done for me I'll write you a song or we can just hang out, I'll hold your hand or tell you the joke that always gets you laughing And when I see you smile, everything becomes worth while And I forget about my worries, yeah, they just fade into the blue But something I can't see, how on earth could a galaxy Like you think anything of a tiny star like me But in the end I don't really care what you think Cause the bottom line is you make me happier than I've ever been, Oh I've ever been And after all why would you do all the nice things that you do If you didn't really mean them from the bottom of your heart So it's all good, yeah it's all good I think you're my best friend But in the end I don't really care what you think Cause the bottom line is you make me happier than I've ever been, Oh I've ever been And after all why would you do all the nice things that you do If you didn't really mean them from the bottom of your heart So it's all good, yeah it's all good

Throw me, bones and all, into a cavern of my own thoughts I shouldn't last long at all Another night has passed and I'm still waking up at the crack of dawn and you're the first thing on my mind Your gentle hand beat up my brain and your face won't look the same The next time that we're here at the same time tomorrow So throw me, bones and all I shouldn't last long at all

Winter Coat 02:31
You looked a little spaced out yesterday I offered you a hand but you had nothing to say Am I a ghost to you, cause I'm thinking Maybe it'd be best for me to stay away And as you made your way to the front door You left your winter coat that your mum bought You closed the door slow in time for you to speak: "I think it'd be best for me to just leave." Then you ran out so fast I didn't have time to grab a mac The car and all the driver's stuff was soaking wet by the time you passed I called your name into the rain but all the people look the same In every man I saw your face and my sight begins to fade And my hands they start to shake as I'm standing in your place Your winter coat is still at mine I dont have time to run away To bring it back to keep you warm you're already lost in your own storm And it's all my fault

I feel for you but when did you believe you were alone You say that spiders crawled inside and made themselves a home Where light once was Petrified of who you are and who you have become You will hide from everyone denying you need someone To exterminate your bones Friend, please remove your hands from over your eyes for me I know you want to leave but friend, please don't take your life from me Won't you let me know your plans tonight Cause I just won't let go 'til we both see the light And I have nothing else I have to say But I will listen to you all day, yes I will Friend, please remove your hands from over your eyes for me I know you want to leave but friend, please don't take your life away from me

Rocket Ships 04:57
On summer nights the stars fall a little slower and I don't if I can catch them in time to sew words delicately to the palm of my hand, tell me What am I worth ? Do you see words written in the air or is it just me forming pictures from nowhere I have funny little comic books taped to my hands And a brain within a brain, it's got a mind of it's own, yeah Rocket ships will take off whether you're in them or not And it's sad but it's the truth, the world would still turn without you But when your bones turn to earth and you ask me 'what was I worth?' I'll simply plant a flower above you, and you can watch it grow You can watch it grow, you can watch it grow, you can watch it grow On summer nights my thoughts form a little vaguer and I don't know how to arrange them or put them into words Now I'm leaving bashful teardrops in my hands Please tell me I'm a man Do you think aliens in outer space think that they're the only human race My mind's a house of magic cards about to blow away, yeah I'm just a shoot and I'm not ready to grow yet Rocket ships will take off whether you're in them or not And it's sad but it's the truth, the world would still turn without you But when your bones turn to earth and you ask me 'what was I worth?' I'll simply plant a flower above you, and you can watch it grow You can watch it grow, you can watch it grow, you can watch it grow Would it be okay for me to stay If okay is here then I'm far away And the train's not leaving for a while I packed by bags but they've emptied themselves somehow The thought of meaning something just makes my brain twist, invert and fall down sideways But my voice is a spark so let me sing 'til the fire's so bright it's deafening Rocket ships will take off whether you're in them or not And it's sad but it's the truth, the world would still turn without you But when your bones turn to earth and you ask me 'what was I worth?' I'll simply plant a flower above you, and you can watch it grow You can watch it grow, you can watch it grow, you can watch it grow

Don't let me see what I am Cause I can't stand it, no I can't I'm coming back round again It's been over a year I thought this was the end But now I don't remember comfort Because what I am is what I'm not I don't belong here it's just hopeless Find me a way out if you love me at all Don't let me hear what they say Cause I can't stand it everyday I'm thinking that I should leave now And I don't think I'm coming back this time But now I don't remember comfort Because what I am is what I'm not This phantom skin, it's weird to live in So find me a way out if you love me at all

It's Okay 01:38
Hey, It's okay if you're not okay right now You have plenty of time to figure it out And before you know know it, you won't even remember the last time Someday you'll be glad you didn't listen to your demons that one night And I already can't wait to see how you'll grow There'll be skies as blue as your eyes and grass as soft as your nose And I'll tell you all of the things I love about you I'll tell you about all the times that I've smiled because of you And you'll realise, It's okay if you're not okay right now.

Hands 03:17
Pretending to laugh is exhausting but I'd rather be tired than lose my friends again And I'm nothing special but in the end I'm all that I've got So friends raise your hands Does it really matter to you if your haircut's uneven and none of your socks match And do you care about people who speak just to hurt you, you know you're better than that After all why would anything good happen if bad was all we got I left a trail of hope so you won't get lost So friends raise your hands Oh ... The end is coming closer with every breath you take And you can't outrun the light speed earthquake (Yeah) And no matter how many times you tell me it's fine I feel like this was all a mistake Please humour me cause my minds a castle of songs and you're not singing along Well, if you're not the singing kind it's fine Just don't leave me behind (Oh ...) So friends raise your hands Raise your hands

Ghost Boys 03:21
On my way home from the store I bought your favourite colour So we can paint your room together I'll cover your ceiling with nebulas I'm not really sure if you'll remember But in that one moment last summer I felt Pretty good with being alive and all It seems memories are all we've got I've been getting tired of all these ghost boys telling me what to say There's two for my heart and two for my brain And the one for my body keeps running away I've been wasting time on all these ghost boys and all their selfish ways Believe me I can and will fix what they've done Do you think of me anymore As someone you can talk to When your face turns to grey-blue I know you, you're not anti-social I'm constantly aware that we're sinking And the spirit boys never let me refrain from thinking That it's only a matter of time before we break It seems optimism's all we've got at this point I've been getting tired of all these ghost boys telling me what to say There's two for my heart and two for my brain And the one for my body keeps running away I've been wasting time on all these ghost boys and all their selfish ways Believe me I can and will fix what they've done But I'm not an optimist you out of all know this Sad kids we rhyme like this and all that I know is Tunes and a rhyme help me more than a therapist I cannot wait til the day that we reminisce Times that we changed and the plans that we made We are growing and learning every single day And no matter how hard that I try to change The ghost boys won't go away I've been getting tired of all these ghost boys telling me what to say There's two for my heart and two for my brain And the one for my body keeps running away I've been wasting time on all these ghost boys and all their selfish ways Believe me I can and will fix what they've done
